Reliving our favourite performances from Big Shiny Tunes 2022-2024

On February 7 and 8, 2025, the Marquee Ballroom will host the fourth annual Big Shiny Tunes show, where 25 of Halifax’s favourite local musicians will perform songs from the iconic MuchMusic compilation albums. Created by Stephanie Purcell, Dave Sampson, and Mike Farrington Jr., the event has grown into a beloved tradition that brings together some of the city’s best talent for a night of pure nostalgia. Since its debut in 2022, this event has become one of Halifax’s most anticipated events, keeping the crowd singing along from start to finish.

This year’s lineup features some of Halifax’s most talented musicians, including, BST newcomers Elyse Aeryn, Haliey Smith, Mick Davis, Christine Campbell and Bologna Colorado alongside vets like Alfie, Atay and Jax, Cory Tetford, Carmen Townsend, Christina Martin, Dave Sampson, Jon Samuel, Michael Lloyd, Rankin MacInnis, Tori Cameron, Villages and Walrus. All performers will be backed by an all-star band featuring Clare MacDonald, Dave Casey, Jason Vautour, Jordan Murphy, Mike Farrington Jr., Seamus Erskine, Siobhan Martin, Tori Cameron and Zach MacLean.
