2024 JUNO Award Winners

Over 40 Juno Awards were handed out on Saturday at The JUNO Opening Night Awards and Sunday evening at the 53rd Annual JUNO Awards.
Saturday’s event was co-hosted by Aba Amuquandoh and Damhnait Doyle and had five performances by nominees Aqyila, Begonia, Lili-Ann de Francesco, LU KALA and Nova Scotia’s own Jah’Mila who opened the show with her song “East Coast Family” alongside Wolf Castle, Owen O'Sound Lee, Wendy Maclsaac and Morgan Toney. Halifax lawyer Chip Sutherland was also honoured with an award that recognizes individuals whose work has helped develop the Canadian music industry - the Walt Grealis Special Achievement Award on Saturday.
Nelly Furtado hosted The 2024 JUNO Awards Broadcast on Sunday evening, opening the show with an incredible performance. The first award of the night (Group of the Year) was presented to The Beaches by the JUNOS’ most decorated artist and Nova Scotian Anne Murray.
Hip-hip pioneer Maestro Fresh Wes was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and had an unforgettable performance.
Award-winning actor and Halifax native Elliot Page presented the 2024 Humanitarian Award to Tegan and Sara.
While most awards were handed out on Saturday at the Opening Night Awards, Sunday’s show featured many incredible performances including ones from The Beaches, Charlotte Cardin, Jeremy Dutcher and Elisapie, Josh Ross, Karan Aujla, TALK, a special tribute performance by Alexandra Stréliski, Allison Russel and Aysanabee.
Big winners of the weekend include Charlotte Cardin, who won Album of the Year and Pop Album of the Year for her record “99 Nights.” The Beaches won Group of the Year and Rock Album of the Year for their album “Blame My Ex.” Aysanabee won Songwriter of the Year and Alternative Album of the Year. Shawn Everett won Producer of the Year and Recording Engineer of the Year. Tate McRae also won two awards (Single of the Year and Artist of the Year) but wasn’t in attendance.
