Three Wintersleep Shows Coming To Halifax
WRITTEN BY: KATIE GORDON // THE BOOM AT NOON
Starting on May 9, Wintersleep is set to make a triumphant return to Halifax after a five-year absence, and the anticipation is palpable. The band's last appearance in the city was at The Marquee Ballroom, coinciding with the release of their album "In the Land Of." Fans have been eagerly awaiting their comeback, and the response to the announcement and near-immediate sell-out of the first two shows announced reflects that.
Tickets for the first show announced on Saturday, May 11 sold out within just eight minutes. Responding to the overwhelming demand, Wintersleep and 2037 Gottingen swiftly added a second show on Friday, May 10, which promptly followed suit and sold out as well.
A third show has been added on Thursday, May 9, providing an additional opportunity for fans to catch their highly anticipated comeback. Tickets for the Thursday show are still available, offering a chance for those who missed out on the initial rush to secure their spot.
Special guest Julie Dorian is set to open the Friday night show and Burnt Black is Saturday night’s special guest. As for Thursday's performance, the special guest is yet to be announced.
All three shows will unfold at The Marquee Ballroom, the same venue the band played for their last Halifax performance.
