Halifax Jazz Festival Announces First Round of Artists

The TD Halifax Jazz Festival has announced its first round of artists for its 38th year, scheduled for July 9 to 14, 2024. The festival will kick off with multi-platinum indie pop group Fitz and the Tantrums headlining the TD Main Stage on Wednesday, July 10. On Thursday, July 11, legendary songwriter Emmylou Harris will take the stage, followed by local blues rocker Matt Andersen and his band The Big Bottle of Joy, along with The War and Treaty on Friday, July 12th.

Meanwhile, St. Matthew’s United Church will host performances by renowned guitarist Julian Lage and his trio on Friday, July 12, and pianist Emmet Cohen and his trio on Saturday, July 13.

At The Carleton Ukrainian soul singer and bandurist Maryna Krut will play on Thursday, July 11. JUNO-winning world jazz group Avataar plays on Friday, July 12, and French/American jazz singer Laura Anglade on Saturday, July 13.
