skydiggers sell out the Carleton - three times

This year, The Carleton is having its 15th anniversary, and on February 14 announced they are bringing Skydiggers to celebrate with two shows. It didn’t take long for the first two shows to sell out before the legendary venue added a third show on May 24 - which is now also sold out. Visit The Carleton’s website to join the waitlist.

 

DANIEL ROMANO’S OUTFIT TO PLAY THE MARQUEE THIS SPRING

Another Valentine’s Day announcement, this time from Sonic Concerts. Daniel Romano’s Outfit will be stopping by The Marquee on May 19. Opening the show is Julianna Riolino, who is a member of Romano’s outfit.

CELEBRATING JAY SMITH

Matt Mays & El Torpedo, Rock Ranger, Carmen Townsend, and Like A Motorcycle will be paying tribute to the late Jay Smith, 10 years after he passed. There will also be special guest appearances by Adam Baldwin, Kendel Carson, PJ Dunphy, Dennis Ellsworth, Ian MacDougall, Steve MacDougall, Christina Martin, Thomas Matheson, Craig Mercer, Laura Merrimen, Dale Murray, The Novaks, Joel Plaskett, Carleton Stone, Tracey and Martina, and many more.

Proceeds from the show will be going to the Boys and Girls Club (BGC) and YMCA of Cape Breton. The show sold out almost instantly, but those wishing to make a donation in honour of Celebrating Jay Smith, you may do so directly at the YMCA Strong Kids Campaign and BGC Cape Breton (Whitney Pier Youth Club).

VILLAGES RELEASE THEIR SOPHMORE ALBUM

On February 17, Cape Breton-based rockers Villages released their second album - Dark Island. The Boom at Noon had a chance to chat with Matt Ellis about the release, which you can read here. Following the ablum release, the band is heading out on tour with stops in Ontario, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia. On March 10, the band will be playing at The Marquee with special guest, Sorrey.

AREA 506 ANNOUNCES LINEUP

Each hour starting at 9 a.m. on February 17, the Saint John music festival, Area 506, announced another artist on their lineup. Happening August 4 - 6, headlining the festival will be The Sheepdogs, Billy Talent and Metric.

feist announced to play the halifax jazz festival

Grammy-award nominated Feist will be performing her only Atlantic Canadian date of her Multitudes Tour at the Halifax Jazz Festival on Tuesday, July 11. Her sixth full-length album, Multitudes, is set to release on April 14.

BRADEN LAM ANNOUNCES EP RELEASE PARTY

Braden Lam will be releasing an EP titled “Strange Paradise” on April 7, 2023. Less than two weeks later, on April 20, Braden will host his EP release party at The Carleton. He will be joined by special guests, The Gilberts and John Muirhead.

Shot live at Waveshine Audio, this is the first of several live performances that The Corvette Sunset will be releasing in the coming weeks.
