Day 3 of the ECMAs showcased a diverse lineup of talented artists playing all over Halifax and Dartmouth. The Boom at Noon attended several showcases and performances at Alderney Landing, The Carleton, The Seahorse and the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel.

To kick off the night, The Boom at Noon went to The Carleton to see Antigonish-based sisters, Moira and Claire perform their beautiful harmonies to a full room. The pair have another showcase on Saturday at the Rising Star Stage at The Seahorse.

2022 East Coast Music Award winners, The Gilberts have three showcases at this year’s festival, their first one being at Alderney Landing for the Songwriter Spotlight Stage. If you missed them, you can catch them twice on Saturday at the Trad Brunch at The Carleton or the Rising Star Stage at The Seahorse.

Just a month ago, Braden Lam released his EP, “Strange Paradise.” Braden played music from the EP and some unreleased music at the Songwriter Spotlight Stage at Alderney Landing. Braden brought Wolf Castle, to perform their song “Silence” together for the first time. Despite collaborating on the ECMA 2023 nominated song, earlier in the day was the first time the pair had met in-person.

One of the most buzzed about bands performing was Skunk Motel, who packed The Seahorse on Friday night at the Breakout Stage. If you missed them they are playing the Loud Stage at Gus’ Pub on Saturday.

Fresh off her Fans’ Choice Video of the Year Award, Nicole Ariana played on Friday Night Electric Stage at the Marriott Harbourfront Hotel. Quake Matthews joined her on stage for a song.

Closing out the Country/Pop Stage on Friday night was Dave Sampson, who despite playing a late showcase managed to pack the room.
