Hearts of Kin Release Debut Album

“Beautiful Burn” album artwork

On October 27, Cape Breton-based Hearts of Kin released their highly anticipated debut album, “Beautiful Burn.” The band is fronted by sisters Danielle MacDonald and Shellie Ann Tobin, who self-produced the album.

The album includes the breakout single, "Hijack," a song which the band says is about taking control of life when it's gone off the rails. The single topped the East Coast radio charts for 15 weeks and perfectly set the tone for the album, which the duo describes as an intimate collection of a lifetime of joy, pain, love and loss. Listen to the album

"Producing it was very healing for us and we can't wait to share it because we know it's going to resonate with a lot of people. There's something for everyone on this record. Some songs will make you want to dance and some will make you want to cry. We hope it gives our listeners a sense of comfort and connection." - Hearts of Kin

Album Release show:
